Why Hello There, Tara Reid

January 27, 2011

So I think I could walk around this city for days. This was our second day wandering aimlessly around Paris and I’ve decided there isn’t a place you can go that isn’t beautiful and interesting!

Today we started out in the 1st arrondissement in search of an Apple Store. Last night we blew a fuse or something because Cameron’s macbook charger is broken and our fridge and stove stopped working. Sad day :(. I hope our landlord doesn’t get mad at us and maybe it’s just a fuse that needs to be switched back on. Wishful thinking…

So we wandered around for hours without finding the Apple Store. So what did we find? The Louvre which is as amazing as everyone says it is (and we only walked around the outside.. we’re poor college students. We’ll be back when admission is free next Sunday.)

Not to mention that from the main entrance of the Louvre you can see the Eiffel Tower in the distance, beautiful gardens and fountains (even in the dead of winter), and this adorable ferris wheel that I WILL ride by the end of this semester.

After wandering around the Louvre area we found the shopping district (more like one of the shopping districts! Paris is shopping heaven!) We often find that we all have different opinions on which way to take around here. So rather than argue, we took out a coin (dubbed the “lucky coin” by Cameron) and flipped to see which direction we would go in.

Well that coin sure is lucky. It led us to a posh boutique called Colette. Oh, thank you lucky coin! Upstairs in Colette we ran into this gorgeous blonde in a sequin dress that I wish was mine! I scooted along the jewelry counter next to her when I realized she was Tara Reid. Why hello there, Tara! Now I know why I love Paris. Anything can happen here. I know she’s not some huge celebrity but still, what a way to kick off our semester here! The American tourists inside us all really wanted a picture with her but when we flipped the lucky coin fate disagreed.

Oh well! We had an amazing day and visited some amazing designer stores. Now I just need to find enough money to shop here! Haha!

Au Revoir! xoxo.
