We ran off (after the kids were situated with their meals tickets and maps) to cover the park and get the full Disney experience. We had a very enthusiastic guide on the jungle cruise.
On the Journey of the Little Mermaid, we got a fast pass but I kept getting stuck behind. When the ride was finally over, our entire group was let off but I was still stuck inside the last tunnel! Road bumps aside, I loved reliving my favorite childhood songs.
For some reason, I have a thing for carousels. They are just so pretty and probably my second favorite ride after the swings. Good old fashioned fun.
Disney became prettiest as the sun started to set. Disney cast members headed out into the street with bundles of balloons and flashing toy carts. Main street lit up and the whole thing was very picturesque.
Candace and I ran off before the parade to find a few souvenirs. How adorable is that candy apple she bought?
When we headed back out to main street it was very crowded so we walked further down the parade route where we could catch a better view. Unfortunately the rain caused everyone to huddle back towards cover and made that pretty impossible.
I didn’t know what the “show” would entail but it turned out to be snippets of all the best Disney songs and movies projected onto the castle. I just about died and went to Disney princess heaven.
The Lion King segment had the coolest visuals.
And then right at the end the sky lit up in a burst of fireworks. At this point it was my job as a chaperone to head back down Main street to the entrance. That way when the others herded the kids out, they could find me for directions to the ferry. Yeah, good luck to anyone who had it in their mind to pry me away from this.
When I finally gave up my spot, I must’ve been a funny sight walking backwards down Main street snapping pictures the whole way so I wouldn’t miss a thing.
Not even the exhaustion of our whirlwind trip through Orlando could make me tired… And then we got to the buses. I was out like a light, probably dreaming about my future home in Cinderella’s castle.
