I have this list. This list of all the places I want to travel in the world.
It is getting pretty long between the running list I keep in my head, my Pinterest boards, the posts I read on other travel blogs and the links I am sent from friends who think of my each time BuzzFeed publishes a new list of must-see destinations.
The only solution? To go on vacation of course! So how does a wanderluster take that wish list and make it reality? Here are five tips to help you discover the destination you can actually afford for your next vacation.
1. USE TRAVEL SEARCH ENGINES THAT ALLOW YOU TO COMPARE A VARIETY OF DESTINATIONS BASED ON YOUR NEEDS
When I studied abroad, I was constantly browsing Skyscanner and RyanAir. These sites highlight flights that are on sale or affordable from your current city. Momondo is another favorite because it will suggest destinations based on the things you enjoy. Wherever you go, protecting yourself from preventable diseases is paramount – for more information on vaccines available for a whole host of destinations, visit pharamavaccs.co.uk
2. CONSIDER STAYING WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS
Chances are you know someone who lives somewhere you’ve never been before. Take advantage of this while you can. This makes travel especially budget-friendly since you may luck into free accommodations and transportation if they have room to spare or a car.
3. FIND OUT WHICH POPULAR DESTINATIONS ARE CURRENTLY IN OFF-SEASON
Sometimes it’s nice to get away from the crowds. I loved exploring Paris in February before the influx of tourists in spring. It may have been cold but lines were shorter and some attractions were even free in the off-season. Australia is a country that is warm and beautiful all year round, so you can visit on or off season. Places like the Gold Coast may be great to visit off-season, avoiding the crowds but still having the benefit of looking at all those gorgeous places. It also may be a good idea to rent a car to help you get around and see all the sites, it’s a great way to travel bit further and feeling more relaxed in your own transportation. These are available from places like Andy’s Auto Rentals, providing expert car hire for a vehicle that is perfect for your individual taste, if you’re interested visit their website here https://andysautorentals.com.au/. Whether your goal is to travel or just relax on the beach, going off-season is a great way to experience that well-earned vacation bliss you deserve.
4. KEEP AN EYE ON UPCOMING FESTIVALS AND EVENTS
Look for destinations with upcoming activities, festivals and events. New Orleans has something fun for every season, so even if you can’t book Mardi Gras it doesn’t mean you won’t catch a weekend of festival fun. Other cities around the world boast local holidays and events that make the experience worth the cost. Some other festivities I think are worth traveling for include Songkran in Thailand, the lantern festivals in Asia, Holi in India and Carnival in Rio or Venice. Or check out this BuzzFeed list.
5. CHECK OUT NEARBY DESTINATIONS
Sometimes you don’t have to travel far to get an entirely new experience. Look for hidden destinations right in your backyard. The proximity will keep this vacation affordable. If you’re looking to afford a vacation somewhere a little further afield and experience another culture but are concerned about how you will fund such a trip, go to kingofkash.com and learn about signature loans.
