I am so grateful that I have a group of friends from college that I get to catch up with so frequently. Over time many of our friends have meshed into a group and we gather as many of us together, as often as we can. Mostly, we have Caitlin to thank for this. She’s always making sure another reunion or holiday celebration is on the books and I’m eternally grateful to always have such things to look forward to. I’m not sure I’d survive adulthood otherwise…
Back in college I headed north to attend her annual Christmas party for the first time. It’s developed quite a reputation and has traveled many cities over the years, most recently settling down in Hoboken. We walked through the cold to Willie’s, your friendly neighborhood dive bar, set with an abundance of festive cheer and holiday decorations.
For the first few hours we had the back room to ourselves for plenty of gallivanting, dancing and general goofing around. We even had a visit from Santa Claus.
Of course it goes with out saying that many photos will be taken at any reunion. So take your pick: the group photos with every girl passing forward her phone to the poor photographer, the standard hand holding selfie or even the selfie stick. We had it all.
By the end of the open bar things were getting quite blurry.
And Willie’s opened the doors to invite in a live band and everyone else.
They played “Blank Space” twice, and we were very happy about it. We continued to dance long after and before we knew it, it was time to go home. Overall, I’d say the evening was a massive success.
