It seems like much of the US has been wrapped up in a winter super storm for some time now. It’s been one chilling forecast after another. I really hope everyone had their stock of fuel (such as heating oil from the likes of Romeo’s Fuel and similar other companies) to keep their furnaces and fireplaces running! However, this weekend I woke up to find my local area transformed into a winter wonderland. The kind you would hope for around the holidays, but wish away this time of year when spring comes into sight. I just hope that it hasn’t damaged too many homes, as I know how devastating it can be. From damaged roofs (learn more here about repairs) to collapsed power lines, these sorts of storms can certainly cause havoc. But even when damage is avoided, the sub-zero temperatures can cause all sorts of different problems for people. This year is not the year to skimp on heating! Visit this website if you don’t think you have the right heating to keep you warm during this terribly cold winter. Nonetheless, once the winter storm has begun, it’s hard not to appreciate the beauty.
It was only a few hours before we began to feel cooped up and stir crazy, sitting inside with a glass of wine watching movie marathons on the couch – can anyone guess which movie series we were watching? We’ve had a lot of ridiculously cold weather lately – a shock coming back from the mild winters of Louisiana and South Carolina – and I realized this was the first snowy winter I had experienced in a long time. Luckily we had heating to keep us warm when we returned to the much warmer indoors. I’m sure people who deal with these winters regularly search websites similar to https://kellypropane.com and their local fuel sellers regularly to make sure that they are well stocked throughout the cold season.
I have done a fair amount of travel in the winter and spent one chilly winter in Paris, so I have become somewhat of an expert at layering up to fight off the cold. I am talking layers upon layers upon layers. Two coats. Two sweaters. Hidden vest in between. Doubled gloves. You will even spot my secret weapon in one photograph – black fleece-lined leggings peeking through the knee of my denim, which are of course layered on top of socks and a thick pair of tights. As I peel away the top layers, it’s almost humorous how it looks like I am wearing an entirely new outfit. Most important though, are a sturdy pair of warm shoes. They make all the difference between a fun and painful excursion out into the impending snow globe situation.
Brittany and I weren’t the only ones who wanted to get outside and play. Lucy ventured out with us first and before long Jack was begging to join in on the fun. They’re so small they had to burrow their way through the snow with their little noses.
