There are a lot of fun shops and cafes to pop into if you’re wandering near Dupont Circle. Recently I’ve had quite a few meetings, meet ups and happy hours in the area so I’ve started to collect some favorites. Here are a few.
1. KRAMERBOOKS + AFTERWORDS (1517 Connecticut Ave NW)
Whether you are looking for a delicious brunch menu, a creative space or books you could browse for hours, this is your spot. You can even sit outside on a nice day.
2. JRINK Juicery (1323 Connecticut Ave NW)
Delicious juices in a sunny space shared with yoga and dance studios so you can check off all your healthy boxes in one stop.
3. TRYST (Adams Morgan – 2459 18th St. NW)
Not exactly in Dupont, but because I like to walk I have stumbled into this little spot for a quick breakfast before meetings in Dupont. All I need next time is a group of fun friends to make it a brunch.
4. MANDU (1805 18th St NW)
All I need to say is $4 sojutinis and dumplings for happy hour. See you there!
5. THE GRYPHON (1337 Connecticut Ave NW)
Friendly bartenders, a swanky vibe and a great back room if you are looking for a spot to plan your next meet up. I attended a Blogger Scene event here in January and really enjoyed myself.
6. CAFE CITRON (1343 Connecticut Ave NW)
I didn’t get a chance to eat or sample their reportedly tasty mojitos but this place definitely has the lets-meet-after-work-and-start-the-weekend-early vibe. It has come highly recommended by quite a few friends too, which doesn’t hurt.
7. SAUF HAUS BEER HALL + GARTEN (1216 18th St NW)
I was sold the moment I saw Hofbrauhaus brews on tap. I will happily accept any chance to relive my Munich trip, especially if it doesn’t even require me to step foot on a plane. We also enjoyed the live band playing on a Saturday night.
