A few weeks ago, I woke up bright and early to drive out past Olney with my mom and visit the azalea gardens at Brighton Dam. The drive was quiet and peaceful, and when we arrived there wasn’t another soul in sight. The air was still damp and the morning dew got on my sandals as we walked from the parking lot through the garden. While the flowers offer quite a sight of stunning colors (if you catch them during their short bloom), it’s the surrounding landscape that really creates a serene environment. The perfect way to start a Sunday.
