Sunday morning we rolled out of bed (or off couches) and set off to breakfast. We enjoyed some
cold pressed juices and got in our one and only meal for the day. That will have to change if we are going to survive much longer.
After breakfast we put together our best outfits yet. Wigs were a common theme here.
Jackie got her fashion inspiration from Cat. And Cat was happy to share the spotlight if she could have Jackie’s beer.
After a good long photo shoot we set off for Fat Harry’s. There’s nothing more valuable than a free bathroom during Mardi Gras.
We caught the tail end of the afternoon parades. After the last float we grabbed a few drinks and headed down St. Charles. And took A LOT of pictures. I mean A LOT.
But it wasn’t all our fault. We were like celebrities. Parents were asking us to pose for pictures with their kids.
And Jenna acquired a nice new rack and became a new woman. The belle of the ball.
With no floats in the way, we took the party to the streets.
We made quite a few friends along the way.
I thought I had a good disguise. I mean the fro looked so natural, right? Wrong. I was still spotted by several of my students running after me shouting, MS. MAST!!
I would adopt this one if I could. Unfortunately I’m not fit to be a mother yet and we are not that far apart in age. But she’s the best. I surprised her with balloons on her birthday and she surprised me right back on my birthday. We’ve come a long way since she informed me during her first week of debauchery in my class that she would only respond to “Keke-gonna-get-written-up.”
We said goodbye and hit the road again.
A family tied a bunch of beads together and created a game of jump rope right through the middle of the street. Carly for the win.
We eventually made it to Washington and the boobs were still a hit.
The sun set and the evening parades rolled. Somehow my pictures turned orange.
It’s a good thing we walk so much because a diet of king cake and beer is not great for the waistline.
We have no idea which day we’re on but the party is definitely still going. Happy Mardi Gras!!
