What Are Your Travel Essentials?

Homeaway, who I’ve used two years in a row for Mardi Gras (they always come through with amazing rentals), recently asked me about my travel essentials. While my packing habits vary depending on the itinerary, there are a few items that I always rely on to get me through warm weather weekend getaways. My ideal getaway is a quiet weekend relaxing on the beach. Getting on the beach is one of the most beautiful and relaxing things you can do, the sea, the sand, the sun, perfect! Got to make sure I have all my accessories with me at all times like my two piece swimsuit, so here’s what I always bring.

I like to bring a beach bag that easily folds into my luggage but expands to hold all my beach stuff, a cover up that is easy to throw on and off and sunglasses. I always make sure to have lip balm with SPF because my lips chap easily and a big towel to lay out in the sand. Instead of a towel, I use a handmade peshtamal as it’s much softer on my skin and I love that it’s artisan. For fun I bring a speaker for music, a waterproof camera for capturing memories in the waves and a frisbee for tossing around.
