This weekend I am heading to New York City again to see some of my favorite girls. Here’s a breakdown of what to pack for a summer weekend in NYC.
Friday – Bus from DC to NYC + Dinner in Hoboken
Jeans // Sunglasses // T-shirt // Shoes // Bag
I am always cold on the bus to New York and the temperatures for this weekend aren’t too high, so I’m opting for comfy jeans. You can always swap the jeans I’m packing for a pair of shorts. The bus drops off at the Port Authority near 8th ave and 32nd. From there I’ll take the 126 bus (gate 204) across the tunnel to Hoboken and join Caitlin and Kellie at dinner.
Saturday – Hanging out in the City
Sunglasses // Bag // Dress // Scarf // Bangle // Shoes
A dress and sneakers is possibly my favorite go-to outfit for summer. Lightweight, comfortable and so easy to pack. We will spend the whole day hanging out in the city, and I’m going to (of course) try to convince the girls to do at least one “touristy” thing.
Sunday – Breakfast, Lunch and Goodbyes
Hat // Bracelet // Necklace // Jeans // Shirt // Bag // Shoes
The same jeans from Friday with a different top. All of this is packed in a backpack so I kept things simple. By Sunday I’m going to be calculating how to stay for just another day. That’s just how it goes. Instead we will likely end up lounging around lazily, grabbing at least one or two meals, putting off goodbyes and then drifting back into the city for our impending departures.
When do you prefer to visit the city? I think it’s pretty around Christmastime but really prefer the warmer weather of summer.
